Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and your choices. Last updated June 20, 2026.

Gen α AI (“we”) operates this website at genalphai.com. We keep data collection minimal and use it only to understand what readers find useful and to improve the site. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

What we collect

  • Usage analytics (first-party). When you read a page we record the page visited, the referring page, time on page, scroll depth, outbound link clicks, your screen size and browser type, and a random session identifier kept in your browser for the visit. IP addresses are hashed — we do not store them in raw form.
  • Newsletter signups. If you choose to subscribe, we store your email address, source page, form location, consent timestamp, referrer, browser type, and a hashed IP address. We use this only to send the Gen Alpha AI newsletter and manage unsubscribes.
  • Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity for aggregated heatmaps and anonymized session replays (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) to fix confusing layouts. Clarity masks text input by default and processes this data on Microsoft’s servers under Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.
  • Cloudflare. The site is served and protected by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data (such as IP and browser metadata) to deliver and secure the site, and may provide us cookieless, privacy-friendly traffic counts.

We do not run reader accounts, comments, or payments, so we do not collect passwords, profile data, or payment details from visitors.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Our own analytics uses your browser’s temporary sessionStorage for a visit identifier — it clears when you close the tab and is not a cross-site tracking cookie.
  • The newsletter popup uses localStorage to remember pageviews, whether you dismissed it, and whether you already subscribed, so it does not keep asking.
  • Microsoft Clarity may set cookies (for example _clck and _clsk) to recognize a session across pages.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will keep working.

How we use it

To understand which articles resonate, surface popular pieces, diagnose layout problems, improve performance, and send the newsletter when you opt in. That is all.

Your choices

  • Use your browser’s privacy settings, a tracker-blocking extension, or private browsing.
  • Every newsletter email will include an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
  • We honor “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals where technically feasible.
  • To ask what we hold about you or request deletion, email us (below).

Data retention

First-party analytics events are retained for up to 12 months. Clarity data is retained per Microsoft’s policy.

Children

This site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 16.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
